A Healthy Lifestyle Program |
|
On the 6th and 7th of September Jeff Allen and Agata Hidalgo came into our T.Y class to tell use about their Healthy Lifestyle Program. For the two days they were teaching use and telling use about life coaching, fitness and general nutrition.
Jeff is a veteran of the Irish Permanent Defence Force (PDF) having joined in 1985 and retired after 21 years’ service in 2006.
Agatha H. Caubin Dip NT, is a Nutritional Therapist having trained with the College of Naturopathic Medicine in Cork and a Nutrition and Health education provider.
Jeff told use about a part of the healthy lifestyle program, the Hunter Games. the hunter games was in seven parts the tug of war, the eliminator, shuttle run, group relay, relay and the grand finale.
On the first day of this program our class was split into five groups of nine. There was camo, pink, blue, grey and no colour. We then headed outside to take part in the tug of war. We then went back inside where Agata told use about differnet types of fats and sugars. We headed back outside to do our last challenge of the day the eliminator. This challenge i found very hard and it was fun but it took a lot of drive and motivation.
On the second and final day we started our morning with the shuttle run. Agata brought us inside to finish going over good fats, sugar and carbohydrates. we finished these two days with the group relay and the grand finale. The whole year took part in the group relay and only one person from each group took part in the grand finale.
Overall I really enjoyed these two days as I thought me different ways to be healthy.
